Thanks for stopping by and commenting. ...Hey, Chad! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Chivalry is not dead, my friend. It may be hiding? I also agree with you that the movies kind of do ruin the books for you, for sure. I watched the game of thrones HBO special, which was in-cred-i-ble, then read the book. It took some of the fun out of it.Gary F. Whether that ...I have always been a fan of fantasy. Whether that is sword and sorcery or dragons and such it has always been entertaining to me.

I think a lot of it for me has to do with the Medeival era with Knights and Chivalry stories. Though I throw myself into today's technologies I have always seen myself as a bit of an old fashion throwback and try to keep some of the similar old school ideals. There are fewer people all the time that would do the right thing because it is the right thing to do. Even more simple how many people even hold the door open or offer to help carry or pick something up for a total stranger? No many. To me that is my connection with fantasy.

As for the Tolkien topic. I was lucky enough to read the books prior to the movies coming out. As with many people I felt there were some great parts of the books left out on the screen but I also think the movies were fantastic! I just think the books were better. LOL

I mentioned reading the books prior because the movies definitely helped to grow the fantasy fan community but my friends that have seen the movies without reading the books just don't know what they are really missing. ;)Hiking Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17606998818246272913noreply@blogger.com
